Been hearing a couple youtubers talk about the benefit of the oled 90hz screen is frame doubling at 45 fps. What does that mean and why is it a benefit? Thanks!

Literally what it says on the tin. At 90Hz, the screen is refreshing 90 times a second, so if you’re only generating 45 frames per second, each frame is shown twice (doubled).

It basically results in a perceived smoother experience. Even though only every other frame is different, you still are getting frames delivered as quickly as if it was actually 90 FPS. It’s kind of like splitting the difference perceptually.

Its when the displays frequency (number of times a second the screen changes) is exactly divisible by the framerate of the game, for example 30fps on a 60 hz screen would have each individual frame displayed for 2 screen refreshes. 30fps on a 90hz display would mean each frame stay on screen for 3 screen refreshes.
