Exited Home Depot, got into the car.
Kept on pushing the start button and nothing. Car will not start. Kept trying to start it over and over again and still nothing. Figured I must have dead remote battery. Pressed the remote buttons and nothing happens, power locks will not cycle. Figured good thing I am at home depot so I can get a new battery.
Than I realized it’s not my car lol. Some rocket scientist left his RAV4 unlocked. Same color and model as mine parked just some feet away from mine lol.
Felt like a total dumb ass.

PSA - if the battery in your smart key is dead, and there’s no place to get a replacement, you can still start the vehicle by touching the smart key to the start button.
