Everybody WANTS PS5. There is almost a sense of “making do” with the Xbox, like even if you get an Xbox, you still want a PS5. But if you have a PS5, you don’t really want an Xbox much.

I am a PC + Nintendo kinda guy so I have no dog in this particular console war but this is my observation of the tone of this console generation. Microsoft seriously needs to start investing even more into some 1st party games development if they ever want any chance to make the Sony console feel like “that other thing”, which their current generation pushes could even possibly have done if it was actually backed up by some serious heavy hitter megatonne blockbuster titles. You know, like the more successful consoles?

Maybe the next Halo can just be a classic awesome Halo game that has a bunch of working features and shit and there are also other actually excellent, premium games to play on their console.

Well the X is an unknown number, and the S if you turn it 90° makes up half the infinite symbol so half of infinity is what the S is and the X could be higher because it is unknown but could also be lower… So short answer… I don’t know.

Isn’t that because mostly because of the longer support for games and PlayStation is less dependent on the Internet to run?

I remember the last game came on the PS2 wasn’t that long ago and it happened when the PS4 was already out.

I love Bethesda games. Fallout is one of my favourite series around. I also loved Mass Effect. I did not like Starfield at all, and I expected to love the shit out of it. Was very disappointed with Starfield.

I look at starfield and just see a wonky game that doesn’t play to Bethesda’s strengths as exploration and environmental story telling feel completely sidelined in a game about exploring

One of the worst and most hyped games to exist yet. All my friends lost their shit looking at the trailer watching the Xbox event. Sorely disappointed with that purchase, played for 30 hours just to feel like I got my money’s worth but felt like I was scammed even more. Their engine just isn’t up to date, there are tiny indie developers making better looking games in UE5 than Starfield. So many years in development yet it is still bad.

I also feel like Bethesda formula of making you feel like the Chosen one was lost in this one, you are just a random person. You also had more immersion even with Skyrim wonky NPCs. Thank god Rockstar and CDProject Red are still being amazing though. Playing Cyberpunk 2.0 and replaying RDR2 really made me feel much better (RDR2 still looks and plays way better btw)

I tried Fallout for the first time a couple of years ago, with Fallout 4 on Series X. Probably gave it 3-4 hours, just couldn’t get into it.

Thought maybe it was the setting, or the graphics.

Was excited to try a new Bethesda title in Starfield. Figured the setting is right up my alley (I loved Destiny and was intrigued by No Mans Sky, Outer Wilds, etc.)

I feel like I’m forcing myself to play this game, and am enjoying it even less than Fallout. It’s just…boring.

Maybe it’s me. Maybe these are just not my type of games. I hate it because I really want to like the game(s)/genre, especially since so many others do.

Well if you just wanna chill at your couch and play stuff xbox with the gamepass works like a dream. I 've had 100+ games available since day 1 (and yes, many of them are really, really good) while my friends have 3-4 games on the ps5 max.

Not saying one is better than the other, but there are a lot of people like me out there who see the value of the whole xbox package. Don’t know what’s so hard to believe.

I think more people are realizing that they’re quite happy with 3-5 games per year Vs temporary access to hundreds that they don’t have time to play all of them

Not if you’re a smart shopper and buy most of your games during sales, even including 1 or 2 day-1 event AAA games in there

That’s a statement you pulled out of your head.

As I said, there are people who are perfectly happy with 3-5 games a year, and there are people who are perfectly happy with the gamepass.

Statements like “I cant believe more people would own an xbox!!!” make absolutely no sense. Xbox targets a very different crowd. Its definitely a smaller one, but its still a sizeable market segment.

Xbox isn’t beating the PS5 in any part of Europe, it’s just a poorly written and phrased article and headline. The percentage by which the PS5 is outselling Xbox is lower in the UK than in the other countries cited, but still more than double.

Console wars are basically over, Microsoft starting investing more into game pass and incorporated PC as well. Which is awesome imo. I view Xbox is just another “PC” with a way to access game pass

Xbox has nothing special to it. It’s literally a mid range PC for those that can’t afford a full PC. Playstation has an entire ecosystem of exclusive games, and these were not just “paid for and locked to PS” like MS is attempting, but cultivated over years by Sony owned devs. Of course it’s selling better.

When was the last time an MS console was worth buying over Sony? Halo/GOW days? And even then it was just if you were big into online FPS.

It’s definitely a preference thing. If you play a game that’s on both consoles they play the same. At the end of the day it’s which controller do you like better and is there a console exclusive that you like enough to decide which one to get. I don’t really understand why there is such a big this console is better than that console debate all the time.

I remember even PS3, which had various issues, outperformed Xbox 360 in Europe. Sony is beloved in EU and Microsoft in US but the biggest market is US.

PS4 and PS5 has sold better than Xbox in US, but the competition is clearly closer than EU so you can clearly see a Xbox-bias in US.

UK has always been the top market for Xbox. So I would expect it still to have a bit more of a presence than in the rest of Europe.

No, the article is just bad and stolen content from another article - they just don’t have the data for all regions so they don’t mention them but it is more than likely PS5 does better in all of Europe

It’s easily available here in Poland, but I guess that depends if you consider Poland central or eastern lol. I think Poles don’t like being considered Eastern, but I could be wrong.

That said, I think it’s natural PlayStation would lead in the console market.

I used to always buy Xbox. Until PC gamepass became a thing. I now buy a PlayStation because I can play all of Xbox biggest games on my PC and I have no need for an Xbox, and I imagine it’s the same for a lot of others.
