That electrode is GONE.
That center electrode looks pretty worn down to me. But my eyes are not a feeler gauge. Check with feelers to be sure.

Those look more like iridium or platinum plugs. They’re probably rated for 100k miles.

Wires are usually not necessary, you’d be able to tell if they seem crusty, cracked, or dry rotted. At the very least, it’s easier to do them later if you so choose.
They look pretty good. You want a light brown or tan color on the side of the electrode. I’d personally just replace them since they’re out. You don’t just replace them for good combustion but also to prevent them from becoming too brittle and things like that. Probably won’t improve mpg much at all but won’t hurt.
Pretty cheap yeah, some fuel injectors off ebay might help, if you’ve never changed em.

poor mpg Use some logic. I’m telling from what I’ve done on vehicles. Used to get 12-13 mpg till swapped out injectors, n it jumped to a decent 17-18 mpg. Sure, I can’t be for certain as I’m not there in person, but it’s a very inexpensive and easy suggestion that could help with older vehicles IF they’ve never been changed. Op can also choose to ignore it. So you can quit getting worked up on the “bad rep” monolog. smh 🤦
Bought a 81 Toyota 4x4, had 307k on it with original plugs in it. Ran good but weak, full tune up and like new. Man i miss that thing

I’d replace plugs every 30-50k miles. The electrode looks somewhat burnt away, and like it’s burning hot all together. I’d got with the closest to oem as you can get, and don’t cheap out.
Def replace but The other thing you should replace to improve mpg considerably (if it hasn’t been done already) is your oxygen sensors. Those things tell the computer exactly how much fuel to put in the system based on air mix in your exhaust fumes. They should be replaced every 100k miles or so. As they get old they don’t read as well, and tend to dump more fuel into the system. My truck jumped about 3mpg or an additional 70 miles per fill up with new oxygen sensors.
It really depends on what the plugs are. Are they copper/nickel, iridium, platinum? All of these different plugs last different mileage copper/ nickel should be changed around 30,000 miles. Platinum last up to two times longer and iridium last up to four times longer than copper/nickel. I would check for the part number on the spark plug and look up to see what it is
Spark plugs are one of the few parts that I tell people that if they suspect they’re bad, just go ahead and replace them. They’re not expensive, easy to replace*, and if you don’t know specifically the last time they were replaced - you’re better off starting to keep track with a new set.
