I just got my first steam deck and bought BF4. After being so excited to finally play, I hop in and after about 2-3 minutes I get kicked with a message saying, “You’ve been kicked by Punkbuster” what the heck?? Does anyone know how to fix this? It’s completely unplayable and I’m so frustrated…
It does this every single time I get into a game. I’m at a loss here. Much appreciated to whoever can help!

Thanks for posting the solution with great instructions! This worked for me! I also needed to move the BF4 file back into the original steam folder after it was added to punk buster to get the game to launch.
I remember this being a problem when I played the game on my Windows desktop. You can probably find something online that tells you how to fix it.
did u install punkbuster?
I checked the game files and it looks like it’s already there. I downloaded via steam.
i remember having to install it specifically. if youre getting kicked almost instantly, probably because it doesnt detect it.
Hmm that sounds like it could be what I need to do, I just have no idea how to do that on the deck.
