Namely the new EP-133. TBF, it’s the cheapest thing they’ve made besides the POs. It’s really the first thing they’ve made that’s genuinely got me excited. I don’t even have a sampler. I mean, besides a PC which is arguably the most powerful sampler in existence.

Cuckoo’s demo on YouTube is pretty good, but I wish Loopop would get his hands on one. I prefer his manner of stoic tutorial-review over Cuckoo’s also-OK giddy enthusiasm.

Yeah. I ordered one shortly before they sold out. They took my money and confirmed my order. That was ten days ago, and still no shipping notification.

Annnddd I’ve canceled my order. It’s been almost two weeks since I ordered and no shipping info yet. And all the reports of hardware failure has me spooked. Oh well. Better luck next time TE.

Genuine question as someone who has not used a TE product, what is it that you like about it and the TE workflow? I just struggle with TE feeling like a design brand who happens to make instruments, but can’t deny the appeal of the Pocket Operators?

I think the appeal for me was that it was versatile, portable, and above all for once from TE, cheap. Only it turned out it was cheap in more ways than one so I canceled my order before it had a chance to show up with a broken fader or speaker or just plain didn’t work. Seems like they messed up the launch good.

I totally understand the portability appeal. Just to having something for that extra 15 minutes at work with nothing to do and ideas flowing.

Koala Sampler has filled that void for me. Only it turns out I have less time for making music when I’m traveling than I imagined I would.
