Price for fine for that, given you got a GPU in there at $550.
But, you’ll want to add more RAM - 8gb wouldn’t cut it in 2013 with X Rebirth, nevermind 2023. This isn’t 2011 landscape here. If you are buying this laptop - get another 8gb RAM and kick it up to at least 16gb RAM in total, if possible.
I can literally soak 10-16gb RAM usage easy on Days Gone at 1080p at maxed-out; and at least 10gb RAM on RE: Village - and these are NOT the newest of PC titles. So, gives you an idea why I say you should have 16gb RAM in total at least.
Technical stuff: if there’s 2 RAM slot for spots there in the PC - then you have already one stick of 8gb in there already (from buying the PC) and then say you do say get another 8gb RAM-stick so you stick that in; you can dual-channel now. This combo of 2 sticks of 8 will work together and also dual-channel the RAM, making it use more lanes and run even faster.
So, for dual-channeling: always do that. It’s always best for RAM to double-up - have 2 sticks of 8 (for total of 16gb RAM with dual-channel); or say 2 sticks of 16gb RAM each (for a total 32gb RAM with dual-channel support); pr say 2 sticks of 32gb RAM each (for a total of 64gb RAM with dual-channel support); etc etc. You get the picture.
But if you want to play current and upcoming demanding games - think Alan Wake 2, Avatar TON, Diablo 4, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and anything else that really wants 8gb VRAM to actually run properly at 1080p at probably Medium or better - get a PC with a better GPU.
3050’s are budget GPU’s - as they end in 50. xx50 = budget; xx60 = mid-range; xx70 = enthusiast; xx80 = super-enthusiast; xx90 = you got Richie Rich money and just want the best of the best.
I already have a 8gb ram from my brother, and i asked this laptop have extra slots for upgrading the ram so that shall not be the problem, I really thank you for that long explanation it really was helpful but lets say i only use this laptop for programming cause im no fan of playing on laptop i tend to do work(programming) on this laptop so should that be good?
Upgrading to 16gb RAM should be your first order here, if you buy this. Either that or buy a laptop already equipped with 16gb RAM or better.
I can’t speak for that programming aspect, as I don’t do programming these days. Ain’t done that in forever, TBH.
Keep in mind, you posted a “gaming” laptop here - and I use that term “gaming” loosely, as its specs for such a task is budget and low for modern stuff - so I replied about gaming usage b/c it’s branded as such.
It certainly would be fine for older X1 and PS4 era of PC games, if you go down the gaming rabbit hole here.
