I’ve heard that there are several ways to get other game services on the deck. In a video i saw they used an app from Github called NonSteamLaunchers to install Epic Games Store, Battle.net, EA App and some others through Proton GE. Seems easy enough but what are the drawbacks of this? I guess some games might not function well through Proton? Are you at risk of getting banned from the services for running them through Proton?
As for PC Gamepass, am I correct in guessing I need to install Windows to use it (I do not want to stream games)? How well does dual booting work on the deck? I read that official support for dual booting is coming in the future, what difference does that make from current dual booting support?
Hey I’m the creator of NonSteamLaunchers, all my script does is install the launchers as if you did it manually yourself. It uses GE -Proton to install them that way you’re able to run the games with the most update fixes in the proton layer. However both Lutris and Heroic are far more advanced than my own. Don’t be scared to try and see what’s best for you. My script will always be clean and free of anything unnecessary when you install the launchers. My script also isn’t perfect but I’m still working at it! The plug-in for deck loader is currently in the testing store as well.
