Hey! Husband and I are looking to drive from UK to Hungary (which we have done plenty before) but we always had a normal petrol car before but now we own an MG ZS trophy long range. I know it can do about 270miles full charge what I am not sure on is charging on public spots.

So far we have never used any other charging than just home and I’ve done my research on charge passes (like charge map) but just wondering if anybody did anything similar trips and what charging pass do you guys recommend? Or any tips and tricks you came across when you did your long journey? Thanks in advance!

ABRP and PlugShare. Between the two, I think OP will have virtually all of the info they will need for the charging aspects of their trip. ABRP for the route and suggested charging points + charging amounts. PlugShare to check in advance of a stop if the charging point tends to have issues or not.

Hungary is indeed where op will have to be a bit flexible/careful, but - again - between PlugShare and ABRP they’ll have all the info needed.

Further to what has been said about ABRP and the Tesla network, look into signing up for both the Tesla and Ionity subscriptions, you can do it for a single month, and for a trip such as the one you are describing, the subscriptions will pay themselves. Just make sure you cancel them as soon as you don’t need them. Also, the location of the MG ZS charge port on the right side of the front is pretty good to use the V2 and V3 Tesla chargers.

Another tip: when you looking for a place to stay on the way, many sites (such as booking.com) will let you filter by the availability of EV chargers, and some hotels will even let you charge for free.
