So I’m going to get a monitor a soon and i have a few questions.

  • Is the deck (docked) more powerful than the gaming laptop I’ve been using so far (gtx 1650, 16gb ram ddr4 3200, Intel Core i5-10300H 2.50GHz)?
  • If it is, can the deck output 4k at a normal fps when doing normal browsing and doing things besides playing games?
  • If it isn’t than can my laptop output 4k at a normal fps when doing normal browsing and doing things besides playing games?
  • How well would each of the devices run when outputting 4k?

Basically, should I get a 4k monitor? I don’t really play that many big triple A games (although the souls games, the spiderman games, and god of war are on my backlog) I mainly just play indie games like cuphead, hollow knight, stardew, etc. So I’ll prob just lower the resolution whenever I do play a demanding game but in everyday use would it be worth it to buy a 4k monitor?

Steam deck can integer scale perfectly from 720p and 1080p to 4K so it can be worth it from that aspect
