I’m a mathematics teacher at a highschool and do one period of programming in python. I was using Replit as an environment to teach my class, but replit is suspending it’s education program. So now im desperately looking for an alternative. Some great things in replit were the ability to create multiple different lessons in which students could make their own groups, follow the instructions i made for them and submit their work, and the fact that it ran in the browser (since we cant run python on our school laptops). Does anyone have any other tools which are similar to Replit, or any other creative ways to teach python in a classroom?
Are your students using Chromebooks or are you using PCs?
Python w/ Arduino?
If you don’t want the courses and just a free repl alternative, you can use https://programiz.pro/ide/python, I built it recently.
There’s something to be said for physical books.
I really like Coding Games in Python from DK.
There are more compressive resources out there, but for a high school course where you need to get up and running quickly and easily and get the kids interested, that book is the best I’ve found.
can i join one of your classes just for experience ?
