…is how shooters actually feel on it. I fired up MCC, doom eternal, and Borderlands 2 so far, and I don’t know if it’s the improved refresh rate, the wonderful feeling of the joysticks, or the improved response time, but I feel a huge difference in just being able to Aim with the sticks this time around in an accurate way!

Anyone else feel like shooters feel so much smoother on the new deck?

I’ve fallen off shooters over the years but I fired up Half Life this week as it was free and I really dug playing it with gyro (joystick) controls. My OLED should be coming soon and I’m thinking of diving into a bunch of shooters I missed over the last decade or so.

They changed the shape of the joystick. It’s a different design as far as physicality is concerned. Who knows if they changed any internal components or software.

It’s funny you mention this because I was going to make a post about the Deck and FPS games earlier.

For whatever reason I haven’t been able to find one yet that feels quite “right”. I was playing Master Chief collection last night and it felt alright, but I can’t get it to feel like playing on console. The aim assist feels really aggressive. Before that I was playing Forgive Me Father (looks great on the OLED btw) and that didn’t feel very good either.

Anyone have any tips? So far I’ve tried lowering the dead zones on the analog sticks and that did help, but I can’t think of what else to try. I just want shooters to feel the way they do on console.
