Just got my OLED LE, was greeted by this friendly firmware update screen shortly after connecting to WiFi. It’s now been 20+ min since the screen turned off with fans still at Max.

  • The power light is blinking.
  • Screen seems off
  • Unit is now plugged in
  • fans are blowing hard, air is cool

Is there a hard reboot / reset? Not something I like to do during a firmware update 😳

I’m in the same spot, probably hitting the 20 minute mark now of the same exact situation

If multiple people are reporting, could be an issue contacting the update servers? May be useful to share geographical regions.

Update, after following @Jaybird8388 ‘s lead, I did the hold down power button till fans turn off. This seemed to kick it into a new cycle. It still did blink the led orange for a while and flashed a bit. After about 4 min I saw the SteamDeck lego and I could then finally log in. Downloading my games now. Thanks for all the help and support 👍

Hopefully this works for everyone and helps others in the future.
