Every PL coach should do everything they can to get a touchline ban this week.
Here’s a novel idea: sort the incompetent (or bent) referees out.
Can fans organise a protest against the FA
Between this stuff and the transfer ban failure, this is def gonna be the era a documentary is made about in 20 years.
How about the FA bring some competent refs? Let us hear the refs during games and let the refs answer questions after games.
The fuck?! So incompetent refs are allowed to be above criticism ?
No, but live TV isn’t the place for it.
Where is the place for it then ? Clearly you can’t leave the tribalism alone for 2 seconds and concentrate on an issue that affects every team in the league. The FA cracking down on what managers say does absolutely nothing to solve the issue.
It won’t improve until every fan of every club comes together, unified in their criticism. Instead of moaning when it happens to them and laughing at others when it happens to them. It gives the PGMOL a get out of jail free card every week.
There’s no consistency in the decisions, so laughing at other teams getting shafted because of tribalism, is just as bad as it happening to your own club.
Thankfully, it’s rapidly approaching the point of screwing up enough decisions for each team that the fans are starting to become unified in their criticism.
This statement only further alienates them and their ilk.
Fuck them to the nth degree.
It wont ever improve. Why do you think we have bad refs? Because they want to be bad?
No, because no one wants to be a ref. And who’s fault is that? Ours.
The Untouchables make themselves more untouchable
What’s next? Anthony Taylor’s mum gonna release a statement that everyone should stop being mean to her son?
Punishments for verbal criticism of the status quo. The prime trait of dictatorship.
Good. The treatment of officials is appalling from grass roots to the prem.
The Arteta incident encapsulated the problem. Three subjective calls were made, no clear and obvious error, goal given. Yet Arteta goes on a ridiculous rant because subjective calls went against him.
Football needs to take a lesson from rugby in how ref’s are treated.
Fans, managers and players being constantly abused and harassed: Nothing
Referees getting some deserved criticism: OUTRAGEOUS!!
I wonder if they’ve considered getting tough on shit referees? That seems like a good first step.
Everyone’s happy to agree referees are bad. But no one seems to consider where the good referees are going to come from.
There is no waiting list of great referees lining up to face the week in week out abuse, because it isn’t a desirable job. So it seems to make sense to me to make the job desirable before expecting the good people to arrive.
How dare you criticize the refs even though every week they admit there was a mistake?
Anyone in any job gets criticism if they fuck up on numerous occasions it’s perfectly normal and correct. Why do the PGMOL think it is immune to criticism? God complex much? Embarrassing.
What is being done to help these refs get better? FA is not doing anything to fix the root cause of these fucking issues. You’re punishing everything else, while we have to watch awful officiating week in and out. There are no repercussions for refs and there’s no motivation for them to improve.
there are no repercussions for refs
That’s where you’d be wrong. They get relegated to the Championship for an afternoon and come back up to the PL when they make an awful decision there as well.
