Hey guys, I’m looking to get an m340i. I’m looking at a few cars right now. I know that from 2021 onward they utilize a mild hybrid system but am unsure of wether or not I want a car with that. What are some pros and cons, and does it at all affect performance/mod ability? What would you recommend?
Just picked up a 22 m340 and I find myself driving in eco pro mode at least 30% of the time… the start stop function is really seamless and coasts a great deal without using combustion…usualy on 1 tank of gas doing mostly city driving ill do about 50-65km of travel with the engine off… lots of ppl give hate to the mild hybrid…but in real world use …its pretty seamless with lots of efficiency value…
I recommend the 2007 🔥 335i 🙅♂️ no compromises N54 🤯 jdm killer 🏒stick shift MANUELLE 🤝 all pros ✅ no cons ❌5000 horsepower 😮💨 speed demon 🏎️
Maybe post onto a BMW mechanic subreddit.
I purchased a 2021 over the 2020 for the hybrid system as it saves you on gas if you drive in Comfort & Eco - if you have the autopilot feature the engine even stops for you at red lights to save gas. In terms of power, I’m not too sure if the 2020’s have the eBoost but read more about it here: https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/what-is-bmw-eboost
do you hate that little shudder from auto stop/start? they took away the off button for it in the 2023 540ix and it’s annoying
