Hey all new to steam and the deck, I’ve got a handful of games in my cart and wondering how often sales like this happen and if I should really stock up or this happens a few times a year. Thanks in advance!

Just put games you want in your wishlist and they email you when they go on sale

https://steamdb.info/sales/history/Seasonal sales happen a few times a year and the next one (the Winter Sale) is right around the corner. You don’t need to stock up. You can even Google when the next sale is. They’re posted ahead of time.
So, the wisest thing to do would be to only buy what you think you would play through until the next sale, but if you’re a true PC gamer you’ll have no self control and buy everything for your backlog and you’ll tell yourself you’ll play it “some day”.
There’s multiple sales throughout the year. One for each season, mid week deals and weekend deals.
