Hi, so as the title says, i wanna upgrade my 512GB card to a 1TB. Was just curious if the brand or tyle matters cause I see ones that say “super fast, extreme, gaming, etc”.

The specs are important, dont get the cheapest one. You should get a card capable of: microSDXC I, U3, A2 to get the fastest experience.

Providing it’s A2 or A1 it doesn’t matter that much. Black Friday sale has some great cards on sale for cheap now. I’m filling one with all my emulation stuff right now. Takes ages to fill em tho.

How are the loading times on a SanDisk extreme ? My refurbished steamdeck (512gb) arrives soon and I dont want to swap the SSD in the next time. Are there any other issues when playing games from a sd card?

No issues with playing from the SD, it just downloads a bit slower upon installation compared to downloading it directly to the SSD. But its probably best to save the SSD for big file games (50GB+) & shader compilation caches.
