Not a mechanic but if this was me I would be thinking “what could I wiggle behind that socket to get some sort of leverage?”

Maybe loop so fishing line around the socket just to be able to pull it back off the lug. If you loop twice might be able to create something that gives even pressure across the back so it just slides off.

At least at that point you can get the right size for the job and try again.
