I drive a 2006 Mazda 3, I got my left front strut replaced back in early September when I first got the car. Recently I went to the mechanic and he said that I need to replace my right front suspension. I was thinking of getting a solid aftermarket strut but I’m not too sure if it’ll be okay to have side by side struts that are different.

If they offer the same level of shock absorption and have the same travel you should be OK. As a general rule shocks should at least match each other even if you’re not swapping them out as a pair.

They’re going to have different valving. Replace both or replace this one with the same as the other side.
