I’m planning to play some old games like Max Payne 3 and others that are stuck on the ps3 console generation. I have noticed that some of them are also available on steam.

I was wondering what would provide a better quality experience for those games?

I have a Steam deck and will mostly play it docked into a tv, and also have access to a ps3.

Thank you very much.

p.s. not emulation

Most of PS3/360 generation was the dark ages for PC. Everything was made for 360 first then ported over. This was true until around battlefield 3, far cry 3.

So the pc version may not be great but they shouldn’t be any worse than the PS3 versions. I played through all 3 max Payne games on the deck and didn’t have any issues.

There’s a wiki that tells u every working ps3 emulated game and all the settings to run them. Coupled with a few guides from here for extra steamdeck settings. There’s a shocking amount of very playable ps3 games. Especially if u just gunna play them on a ps3 that’s already gunna be limited frames etc.
