I have a Pontiac 2008 G6 and its in good condition with 123,500 miles and i started losing fluid, so i replaced the pumped and it works good, but I’m still losing fluid and ive check for leaks and haven’t found anything so im ask if there is anything thay could cause this.
As of now im replacing fluid around every 25-30 days since im losing it. I drive around 500-1,000 miles per month.
I mean, it’s going *somewhere*…
why’d you replace the pump? If it was to fix the leak, this time, do more diagnosis before you load up the parts cannon.
I was replacing parts, and i decided to just get a new one.
If you have a leak that you can’t find, hope on Amazon and spend $20 on a UV Oil Leak Dye Kit with the uv dye, glasses and light. Add the recommended amount of dye, drive the car to the store and back, then climb underneath and hit everything with the flashlight. It will be obvious when you find the leak. There’s not a ton to the system so it’ll be pump, lines in and out, and the rack. Once you find the leak, clean it off, and run it again for less time and see if it’s still leaking in the same place.
More often than not it’s the compression fitting on the high pressure line that springs a leak. Fairly cheap part, possible PIA to install.
Yeah i think that is probably it. Cause im only losing fluid when i drive.
Easiest chexknit to have someone turn the wheels whith the motor on, fluid is under pressure at that point and will spray out of any pinholes you wouldn’t see with the engine off and the wheel static.
