02 f150, brake caliper went in June, replaced it, and it went again tonight, what may cause this?
How did it fail? For example did the brake start dragging? Or did it leak? Did the old one fail the same way?
The first time I don’t remember it dragging all I remember, was hearing a pop and then losing my brakes, but I still had conventional brakes and was driving home seven hours and made it home but now this time it seemed like the same pop, but it was grinding/dragging then about five minutes later I’m driving I heard a pop and then lost my brakes but then when I pulled over, I saw a bunch of smoke coming from under that tire. It’s by somebody’s house where they’re looking at it today but we don’t know 100% certain if it’s the caliper, but nothing else seems like it would make sense although the fact that I was able to break somewhat before when the first time it went out but now it seems like I have zero breaks. Even if it was a brake line, it doesn’t make sense and explain the smoking or the grinding to me
You blew out the seal on the piston? Twice? Thats abnormal
I don’t remember what happened the first time exactly. And it hasn’t been looked at yet today to see what exactly happened, but it seems to be the caliper again.
