I need help trying to find a leak I brought it in to the mechanic 3x already can’t they seem to find the source of the leak.
- Replaced Water pump
- Replaced Oil Cooler
- Replaced Thermostat
- Ordered Oil Filter Housing (has a bad thermostat)
We lifted the car and couldn’t find any hoses or lines leaking fluids but then the belt slips off with some sort of red/ Black / muddy oil substance, don’t know if it’s Engine oil, Trans Oil , Power steering fluid being sprayed all across the skid plate and the serpentine belt… if anyone has had this issue please let me know so o can lift the car again and find the source of the fluid leak.
Car been very well maintained
201k miles , did all the repairs and maintenance at a local shop
Well the first step would definitely be identifying what fluid it is. If you can’t identify it, top off all the fluids and see which one goes down. Make sure all the air pockets are out of the coolant system or you will think it’s that leaking. However the most likely culprit is oil, and it’s most likely coming from timing chain cover or the front main seal if that’s the case. Power steering is also a completely viable option
Put a camera down by the oil cooler justifying that maybe the seals gone bad or not seated correctly, looked fine but I do see a puddle around the back of the cooler by the plastic housing, so my guess would be when the oil cooler was replaced with a new one they didn’t replace the thermostat and coolant housing , I think that maybe the corporate of my problem,
All the parts I ordered today are new with new seals and housings, I’m just going to tackle it all at once

If this is the 3 liter supercharged, could be leaking pcv valve. The pcv sits under the supercharger and if leaking, fluid can run forward when you break and drip onto the belts etc
It’s turbo charged 3L v6 diesel engine
Look at my comment in general above or below, I put in a lot of parts to order, no leaks on the front of the engine bay it’s by the cooler itself
