Young honda tech here. 23 years old so too young to remember what 2008 was like for adults. I feel like we’re heading to a similar grind down to the bottom so whats work like during these times? can you make enough to live? i doubt anyone would be laid off since there’s already a huge tech shortage and its only going to get way worse in the next 3-5 years.
First of all stop listening to the news and people online saying we’re either in a recession or very close to one. We’re doing great compared to other countries. But like others have said, vehicles are always going to need work done on them.
Dude we can’t find anyone who wants to work on cars these days. You don’t need to worry about a recession in this business.
Cars will always break no matter what the economy is doing. Hell usually people end up driving older vehicles instead of buying new which just means even more work for us.
I know they are a pain in the ass to work on but get into a German car dealer and get good at electrical work. You can make really good money, anyone can turn wrenches, not many can actually diagnose complex problems
but how do you go about getting a job at a german dealership if you’ve got no ases just experience working as a tech as american and japanese dealerships
Indy shop is where it’s at, recessions lead to people fixing up what they’ve got instead of buying new.
