I have a 300w power inverter which plugs into a typical 12v socket.

The socket isn’t stock, I wired it myself and it has its own 10a fuse. I used a fuse tap, tapping into the accessory circuit.

I have a 200w device I’d like to run off of the 300w inverter, but the fuse blows immediately.

Is there any danger in using a 20a or 30a fuse?

you have a 10 A, 12 V fuse (figure it’ll handle about 140 watts total) and you’re trying to draw 300 watts. never gonna work. Yes you can replace with a 30 A fuse BUT the wiring also has to be able to handle 30A at 13.8V From battery to inverter.
