So I’m a screenshot hound, especially in games where you have a decent character customizer. I’ll be in a middle of a cutscene, the lighting looks cool or something, and I’m all “oh they look cute rn lemme snap this real quick.” When I get Baldurs Gate 3, it’s going to be a bigger problem that it was in mass effect lmao.

anyway, I like looking through them, and usually I can do so! On my switch, on anything else really. But seemingly not on deck, and it’s annoying. one small thing in the grand scheme of things, but still. It gets really slow once you reach the hundreds, and then barely usable at 1000. plus theres an annoying bug where after like… 20? images, whenever you press on one to get a better look at it, the screenshot manager will send you back to the top. I also can’t scroll through them at the 20 mark anymore either on large view. I’m assuming this is the case for everyone else, yeah?

Yes I can send them to private cloud to look on the PC steam manager but I have too many and theres no way to mass send them all. You got to go through every single one. This will be problematic eventually as well because some day I will need more storage for something and It’ll be a pain to clean some stuff up.

So does anyone have tricks to making it run better? Is there a certain way to open up the screenshot manager without the issues? yet again not something I’m loosing my mind to here, they’re just images, but its just such a weird issue. I overall think there screenshot system on deck needs some work done, and it’s probably the biggest negative I have with an otherwise pretty decent console ui.

Alternatively you could add Gwenview to Steam and use that to brows them. The screenshots are stored at /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/userdata//760/remote//screenshots/. I agree the native viewer isn’t ideal.
