I have a Synology NAS with Toshiba 8TB drives. One drive has 19,000 hours, but was on the shelf for a time, so past warranty. No reported bad sectors, but the NAS reports a “Drive Reconnect count” of 83, all in the last few months.
Can you tell me what exactly is happening? Is it drive related or might I have a bad SATA connection in the NAS? I’m ok if it just needs to be tossed, once I understand what’s going on.
