Lenovo Legion Go (2023) Steam Deck (2022) Sony Playstation Portable (2005)
Omg i cant believe PSP was that small I played it as 12 year all ofc, so my hands were smaller but it looks so tiny!
Holy shit, I didn’t realize how small the PSP was.
This is the way
I don’t understand why people get more than of these capable handheld gaming PCs. I mean I know collecting is a thing, but damn, the thought of having more than just one actually gives me a weird feeling. Like, I would never be sure which one to use.
Variety is the spice of life!
Portable accessibility tbh. Some places are more convenient for certain handhelds than others.
If I’m going to a regular appointment for something and know I’ll be about 30 minutes I’ll bring my 3DS or Vita with me.
I had a major dental thing earlier this year that took the entire day so I brought my Steam deck with me
But also I just love handhelds in general and love collecting
I have a miyoo mini which I can pocket and play up to SNES and PSX on the go. I played practically all of MGS 1 and Chono Trigger for the first time on that. I have a New 3DS XL because there is no good way to play DS and 3DS games on a handheld emulator. And I have a Steam Deck. I also have a DSi XL and Vita but I rarely use those and kinda regret buying them.
DSi XL is kind of redundant if you have a 3DS. But the Vita (modded, easily) is great to play everything PS1, PSP and Vita games.
There is a better way to play DS and 3DS, but it is not cheap. It’s called Galaxy Fold. Just saying.
Why emulate when a 3ds is cheap and easily rootable?
Rog Ally: Newer AAA games and non-Steam games
SD: Rest
At least in my case
I currently have a switch and I’m looking to get either a deck or an Ally, think it makes sense for me because switch games are pretty limited
Id like the Legion just for the Windows games that I can’t play on my Steam Deck. I mod the hell out of my stuff and some mods just don’t seem to work on deck’s os
I think he uses the LegionGO to play games the steam deck cannot play.
And the steam deck to play more indie games
I have a Steam Deck and a Switch and even I feel like that’s a bit much. I don’t get it either. I mean hell, I’d get a big enough SSD to have Windows and SteamOS before I go out and buy a whole more expensive device just for Windows games
I’m kinda guilty, but each has a purpose. Steamdeck and Switch for obvious reasons. Then I have a Miyoo Mini Plus that basically just stays in my car.
Different handhelds are better for different things. I like the Steam Deck for indie games and games that play better with the trackpad. I have an Aokzoe A1 Pro, which has a much bigger screen and better chip, making it much better for more demanding games and some indie games that still aren’t too well optimized for the Deck. I also have a GPD Win 4, which I use for work with the keypad.
I feel the same way in the sense of having multiple x86. I have considered getting an ayn odin 2 for emulation and mobile games and just have the steamdeck for steamgames.
Go for home and steamdeck for travel? Also I hear you can turn the PSP into an excellent and highly pocketable emulation machine.
Same! I could never be fully excited about one because there would always be the others.
Yeah agreed. I get this exact same dilemma. I stupidly have two switches (a lite and an OG), a SteamDeck and a high end Snapdragon android device with a gamesir X2 controller. (only used for entertainment…no SIM in it).
Trying to consolidate everything on the deck and one Switch. No more handheld devices.
For me I love having steam OS as its basically a console experience but I also love having a windows handheld that I can use like a laptip
One for gamepass games, and one for the rest :)
some people might want separate machines for separate OSes
PSP is nice because it’s really small. Sometimes you just want to throw something in your pocket and not worry about needing a bag or risk getting robbed for your deck
Native windows for gamepass and wider game support/compatibility is the answer I bet you’ll find the majority of the time. I have the deck and the rog ally so I can play destiny 2 because of anticheat that prevents it running on the deck, gamepass ease of use instead of cloud gaming only and battlenet for diablo4 (though that’s on steam now). I tied dual booting windows on the deck but I wasn’t thrilled with my experience
Sometimes more than one person wants to play on the glorious handhelds.
Wait are you implying that people have FRIENDS? Must be nice…
Right are ya even going to use both of them
For me: i have a big heart surgery in two weeks. And i am a OLED lover. Bought Legion Go for the Hospital and rehab 2 weeks ago. But also bought OLED Steamdeck for the games that are not on game pass, just because of the screen. Life is too short for compromises.
Good luck brodie!
Good luck and hope you recover back to good health.
Good luck bro, if I had the money to spare I’d pick up a legion Go too tbh, it’s a cool device honestly even though I love my deck.
Good luck on the surgery. I’ve been in congestive heart failure since I was 39. I’ve outlived my doctors expectations. Hopefully you can do the same.
Prayers and good vibes up for you my friend.
Hang in there.
Been in cardiology for a week (I’m 25) I feel you, I wish I had a steam deck during that period to kill time
praying for you dude. Please keep us informed on the sub, it hurts to hear a brother out there is going through this.
In case you fancy using the steamdeck for a small library of Gamepass games there’s actually a tutorial for setting up cloud gaming on steam deck so that it works like an game app almost. Includes links to files for icons and all.
It’s on microsofts website. Seemed to work quite nicely too, once I properly figured it out.
Amen. Love that thought brother. You hold on to life now okay.
Wait until you get a load of American gun culture.

If I were a bigger gamer (only play games occasionally now). I’d definitely get a windows handheld to compliment my steam deck to play the latest AAA DRM games.
But as I only play games infrequently, and mostly games that have been out for a bit first, just having a steak deck is enough for me.
holy crap that legion go screen is huuuuuge.
It’s weird because if you zoom in, the graphics look shit? Hopefully a picture processing thing lol
its a in motion video…also in the midst of a transition. I can see the jungle scene transition…
Yes, but it’s still very comfortable to hold.
Out of all handhelds, the legion Go ironically is one of the closest to comfort as the Deck.
Hard disagree. I returned mine solely because it lacked the comfort of the Deck
It’s personal, at least you’ve tried.
Whats weird is the only thing i find wrong with the steam deck is that it is uncomfortable for my hands / wrists
I mean it’s pretty glorious.
How you digging the legion go? It looks really interesting honestly the only windows handheld that’s had me interested. Mostly for game pass and such. I have dual boot on the deck but it leaves something to be desired with outdated drivers and such.
It seems like you should try it. I’m happy with it. Windows on SD is not that great.
I returned the Legion Go a few days after I got it because the difference just wasn’t there for the games I played. The VRAM bottleneck was huge.
I now have an OLED on the way to compliment my devices.
compliment
complement
It’s actually crazy how the performance got increased with the size together
Having a working vita myself, I appreciate that chunk at the bottom of the lineup more than you know
Why am I most jealous of your PSP?
Of all the gaming devices I’ve owned in my life my vita and psp are the only ones I couldn’t bring myself to sell. They just have a special place in my heart for some reason.
Cause the PSP had UMDs lol
It was a cool system but the Vita is where it’s at. Especially the original OLED vita. 10 years ahead of the curve that thing was.
You should have brought the oled
Legion go just looks like prototype hardware to me
Just did a resell on my PSP-2000. Takes me right back to middle school
What an algorithm huh? I saw your post twice in a row lol
This is me with my 3DS, Switch, and now Steam Deck
