It’s very possible your brother’s 240Hz monitor isn’t particularly good. Just because a display can refresh at a certain number, it doesn’t actually mean that it’s better than a display that might have a lower refresh rate, but has faster pixel response, etc.
A 144Hz OLED for example, will be significantly better than a much higher refresh rate LCD, because OLEDs have pixel responses that are sub 0.1ms. This is more than an order of magnitude faster than the fastest LCD monitor.
