Jarrod Bowen has also suffered a knock while on international duty, in a season that is setting new records for the cost of player injuries

“Gerard Houllier’s thoughts on the matter international football echo mine. He thinks that what the national coaches are doing is like taking the car from his garage without even asking permission. They will then use the car for ten days and abandon it in a field without any petrol left in the tank. We then have to recover it, but it is broken down. Then a month later they will come to take your car again, and for good measure you’re expected to be nice about it.” - Arsene Wenger

The problem with this analogy is that the players are people not cars, they are not the personal property of their club managers. They want to play international football

Ya clubs take have even taken far more greedy positions too with players being asked to miss out on international games even of high importance.

Heres one example with roy keane.

Neymar was also held out of Copa America Centenario by Barcelona apparently having an agreement with Brazil not to call him up.

Lets be honest, I would be surprised if all City’s ‘injured’ players don’t make a miraculous recovery for Saturday.
