Engine swap

I currently drive a 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5L. Looks like head gasket is going bad and I want to buy another engine to replace this one. I found a 2017 Subaru Outback also 2.5L. The price is more then fair. If anyone knows the Subaru Outback and the Legacy are pretty much the same car. Only difference from what I know is outback basically looks like a hatchback legacy. So here is my question…. Will an engine from a 2017 Subaru Outback 2.5 4 cylinder replace my 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5 4 cylinder ?
