Just curious, because personally I bought it mostly with a hope that I will start playing games again and I’m overthinking if it will be what I needed.

Lately (for 2 years) feeling kinda depressed and not really playing games, finished one title (Disco Elysium) in this time. I have some backlog at steam but I’m thinking if I’ll even use the deck…

It made me buy, play and enjoy games that I otherwise wouldn’t have even looked at — a lot of smaller game/indie titles that seemed better suited for a controller than a mouse an keyboard, or games that could be picked up and put down after as little as 15 minutes of game play.

It can play a good chunk of the big budget games, but I have a PC for that already. For me, the Deck has an entirely different use case and I love it.

I just picked up the 1TB LE for the purpose of this exactly, I’ve been so out of touch with gaming bc it’s hard to manage life with someone else and have time to game between work on a laptop. This sold me on being able to do that. Hoping it’s as good as I’m imagining.

Oh, it definitely has for me. Modern gaming was really making me dislike this hobby for a while. But the steam deck came and made me love gaming again.

Nope, still as jaded with gaming as I was before. But at least I can watch movies on it when I visit my family with no internet!

How do PC users find themselves getting used to these controls? I never had a console in my life, just did some MK matches with friends 🤔

Yes: easy access to quick gaming sessions. Perfect use case: Celeste. After 10 minutes and 200 deaths I can just suspend the deck and reconsider my life choices. Then when I’ve cooled off I can resume the climb and strawberry harvesting… :)

Also: fantastic 4 player couch play machine for Towerfall, Tricky Tower, Stick Fight…

The last 15 years or so. I played only on my PC, always upright at a desk. But I wanted to enjoy some other PC games on the couch too, that are more relax. And that’s why I bought the SD.

I don’t want to play Disco Elysium or some JRPG at a desk. These games are for chilling on the couch.
