I’m looking to upgrade my current two RT-AX55 routers which is only giving me a 380Mbps iperf transfer rate and 350Mbps download speed on the mesh network at the second node. Since I have 1000/50mbps internet and have a lot of lan traffic between a nas and computers on the second node, I would like to upgrade to something faster or near 1000Mbps transfer.

I’ve viewed my options with running ethernet and using powerline, both are not suitable for the layout of the old U shaped house, and I have a near ideal wireless conditions, which is though 2 windows at 20-25m.

Does anyone have these routers in mesh and could provide any real world speed tests in 5ghz back haul mode? Speeds for mobile wireless client matter little as I’m mainly looking to speed up Ethernet devices.

Just comparing the specs alone, It would seem possible to meet the 1000Mbps goal easily, but I dont fully understand the backend technology of mesh and how it actually functions on all the bands.
