Maybe it’s a problem with me, but does anyone else’s hands fall asleep when they hold their steam deck for longer than 20 minutes? It’s super uncomfortable and makes it kind of a pain to use. I don’t run into this issue holding a controller or keyboard or phone…

When I play in bed for extended amounts I sometimes get numbness, I find remembering to lift my elbows off the bed periodically helps.

pinched nerves probable, make sure your ergonomically ok; If you’re sitting down and just holding it, I get neck pain and some muscles in my back go sore.

Nowadays I lie down on my back, pillow on my belly, steam deck on pillow. Some pillow for neck support too. It’s increadibly comfortable for me, and wasted sundays playing skyrim this way

Yeah I get this too. Someone else pointed out it’s only when the Deck is higher than their heart. I think that’s the case for me too. I get it much faster is slouching in my bed playing with the deck right up against my face. I get it a lot less when on my sofa.

Take into consideration a controller wont sit up at your face, atleast not for any significant amount of time. And a phone weighs hardly anything and needs less focus than a video game. Steam deck is a little weighty and more than often will be brought closer to your face to focus better bending your arms at the elbows, causing the sleepy feeling in them

Solution that worked for me is a 15” portable monitor on a tablet stand that sits about eye level. I still use the deck as the controller, but I’m not looking down at it or holding it up anymore. It’s not a great solution for travel, but for the living room, it’s great.
