Hey guys i have a series S as mentioned in the title, but thinking about getting a Steamdeck instead. Is the performance similar to the Series S? And can i connect the Steamdeck to a Screen like a Switch?

Uhhhhh I dunno. I never think it’s a good idea to do transactions like this. If you’re not in a financial state to just buy one, you probably shouldn’t have it at this time. If you’re selling an old car to be able to afford a new car, you can’t afford the car you want, so keep the car you have. I’m super cheap tho, it’s a state of mind I guess. If you live at home and are under the age of 18 please ignore all the above!

They do different things. The Series S might not be that much more powerful but I suspect that “not much” makes a big difference when gaming at 1080, and you don’t want to game at less than 1080 on a big screen.

So really it depends what’s more important to you - good performance on the TV, or portability?

Anybody here got experience with games running on both at 1080 and can chime in with a performance comparison?

Of course that only really matters if you’re playing modern, demanding games. If you just play indies and old stuff then there isn’t likely to be a noticeable difference.
