I have the 64gb deck and a 512gb SD card.
I recently wiped it and started again due to the OTHER folder taking up all the space despite cleaning and removing all non-steam game folders, moving data to sd etc.
Installed cryoutilities. Used it to move/delete data as I added and removed games a couple games.
Installed Heroic launcher. Installed one game. Played, then uninstalled. Installed Emudeck with only Atari 2600 emu and one rom.
Installed 2 NS games by adding setup.exes to steam. Both installed but crashed on startup so I deleted all folders in desktop mode.
Removed all compat data and shares via Decky.
This is my storage issue. It was almost completely empty as I was only playing and removing steam games after complete reset.
I currently have nothing installed and only proton experimental (on SD).
OTHER size was tiny when using multiple steam games and installing/uninstalling as I pleased.
Just not worth installing emulators and ns games. I need to learn the lesson.
I tried analysing the storage for large folders and it’s the tmp-7BCJE2 folder under SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper…?
Ready not sure why they even released a 64GB. 128GB couldn’t have been that much more expensive. Then again, to keep all costs as low as possible without truly knowing economies of scale and sales…
The 64GB model should honestly be treated as a barebones option where you are expected to swap the drive
I’m surprised there are people who night the 64GB model and didn’t immediately upgrade the SSD.
Well stuff costs money
