Hey guys

I bought an S22+ about a year ago and I was pretty happy with how fast and snappy everything was (my first actual flagship phone that I’ve bought). But recently I’ve noticed that when I play games or basically use anything that uses a little bit of 3D computing power my phone will shut itself off within 5-10 minutes of use even when it’s not even hot (just mildly warm to the touch). I’ve noticed it get progressively worse as well. Some apps that I had no trouble running before will now do the shutting off thing. I figured it may have been a bad update or something but after a few patches and still no dice I’m at a loss.

The worst part is once it shuts off I can’t turn it on sometimes for a whole night. It will just end up starting and get to the samsung splash screen and then shut off immediately again over and over until I leave it for ages.

I sent it in to the Samsung repair guys and I’m hoping they test it thoroughly and pick up on the issue because I have no idea what the heck is going on. I’m kinda dissapointed honestly as I figured a flagship phone from Samsung would be solid for a good few years.

That sounds like an overheating problem, which the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that powers the S22+ had a bit of an issue with. This might be a worse case of it than was typical though…

So as it turns out I took it in and they ended up replacing the motherboard (they mentioned there was a fault with it) and now I don’t have the issue anymore. So I guess I was just unlucky enough to get a bad mobo.

That’s unlucky! Still, much better than potential alternatives. Glad you got it back in a better state!
