Ok, I just got a Crucial X8 1TB SSD, but that thing came with barely 5inches of usb-c to usb-c cable, which is way too short for the use I have in mind. What I’m worried about is loosing speed if I don’t get the proper cables, and there’s so many on amazon.ca (did I mention I’M Canadian, please don’t blast me with amazon.com links) that I’m lost, which one would keep its speed while not breaking the bank and would be at least 3-4ft long so the disk won’t be dangling from my PC only held by the cable (usb-c 3.2 only in front of my tower and I can’t reach top of PC to place the disk on with such a short cable)
Similar situation with Samsung T7 I got last month. I now use a 2 feet long usb 3 gen 2x2 cable made by tensility international (digikey.com) and have seen no drop in speed/responsiveness. Any rated cable under 2 meters should keep up.
Thanks, will try to find them on amazon.ca, cause I’m a prime member so shipping is included, 99% of the time when I order something online, the shipping costs make it overpriced, except on amazon with prime.
Here’s your canadian link: https://www.amazon.ca/USB-IF-Certified-Cable-Matters-Delivery/dp/B01L0F6AJI/
Damn, pretty sure that is the one I have.
The cable length gives it away.
Just ordered a brand new cable on amazon.ca, will receive it tomorrow and will test how fast it works, for me that disk will mainly be used for my music collection (flac and mp3)
