Hi all,

I just changed the ball joint in a 2009 Renault Clio. It was super hard to get the ball joint out, even with one of the press kits from ebay, and I realised after that it’s probably because I forgot to remove the metal clip from the bottom of the ball joint before. The new ball joint is in now, and seems to be seated fine, but I am worried that I may have damaged the control arm by pushing the old ball joint out before removing the metal clip. Is there now a chance that the new ball joint could come out of the seating of the control arm whilst driving if it has been damaged? Thank you in advance

Probably not, as long as you put a new clip in with the new ball joint and there’s no visible damage to the control arm.
