How do you guys feel to have the LCD steam deck

For me i don’t know how to overpass the bad feeling… i care too much about screen quality and when the OLED came out i can’t enjoy my steam deck like before

Anyone feel the same?

I’ve got an OLED on the way, however, my lcd deck with the latest OS looks so good, it’s like it’s been given a boost as is. Still looking forward to the OLED, but you shouldn’t discount the LCD just yet.

I had a switch rev 1 and ordered a switch OLED when it came out.

I really do feel like the OLED screen makes a huge difference.

That being said, when the OLED SD was announced I didn’t feel like the original Deck I had became less enjoyable.

I’m currently playing Witcher 3 on it and I enjoy it a ton. I just feel like the experience will be better on the OLED SD.

It doesn’t remove anything from the one I have. It juste fills me with anticipation for the better experience.

    If that makes sense.

I just bought the LCD one since they lowered the price. Man you’re overthinking and I think it’d do you good to meditate on this issue a while because I doubt it’s limited to steam deck. Do you always wish for better things generally than what you have? If so try and practice gratitude daily, it helps you count your blessings.

    Gl!

New deck is nice but I think having already one, It makes more sense to wait a few years for the next console

I use my LCD deck as a coaster now. It’s literally useless now that the OLED model is out. When OLED tv’s came out I took my 80 inch Samsung LCD and added legs to the VESA mount to use it as a ping pong table. I really feel your pain.

Prior to the OLED launch, I had an awesome handheld that looked and felt great, and ran everything I wanted it to run. After the OLED launch, I have an awesome handheld that looks and feels great, and runs everything I want it to run.

I’m fine with it. I’ve got an OLED screen in my office so I know it looks good but to me it’s not good enough to replace the one I have.

It’s like buying a TV in the 90’s and begging of 2000, when you wanted to buy a TV, and you had douzens of theses TV in front of you.

Everytime you like a TV, you look the next one, which is way more expansive, and you think “shit the one I want is really bad compared to this one, maybe i should put more money…” or, if you already have a TV “maybe i should change TV” (and i’m talking about old-school TV, not a real evolution like old to 1080p)

But at the end, when you are home. You see only one screen : yours.
You don’t care about the “TV” who was better, and nobody care - and the guy who put twice more money for, what was looking, a better TV during his shoping, will not be able to explain why it’s better than yours.

LCD and Oled is the same. The OLED will not change the way you play, you will still be able to do whatever you want with it, and i will not be schoked if, soon, you will be able to buy a OLED Screen replacement to iFixit for your LCD Steam to get the screen you want, for less money than buying a new one.

So sent love to your deck, you are the one who see the screen.
Just enjoy it, and I trully think the LCD screen will be easily replaceable soon.

Mate it’s better you learn this lesson with steam deck rather than with something serious in your life: comparison is cancer, grass is always greener on the other side, do not compare what you have with what someone else has as it will lead to unhappiness.

You have a superb steam deck, you are part of a great steam deck community and everybody loves you just the same. Enjoy your games. ☀️
