I’m thinking about buying a Prius for $1000. I test drove it and everything seems to be running okay. They did tell me that the cats where stolen and that’s the reason they are selling it for that price. I was looking online and found two for less then $950 from O’Reilly’s. Should I buy or save my money. Oh and also I live in California.

I’m a manager at one of the parts stores. Ask the guy at the counter if they know any cat guys. We have one that leaves his card, gets an aftermarket one installed and working for less than half what the factory approved one costs. Other stores probably have at least a card from someone local.
A “mechanics special” is only a good idea if you are the mechanic.
