Just recently bought a 22 Corolla from Avis and was under the interpretation that it would come with apple car play. Didn’t have a cord at the dealership so didn’t really cross my mind to verify since it comes standard with the 22 models.
Well I get home and try it out, no luck. I trouble shot all the noobie stuff. Diff cord, used the right port (near the head unit), and attempted to alter settings in the menu.
Well, there were no settings for CarPlay in the menu. There wasn’t even the projection button everyone was talking about. Could the rental dealership have taken it off or has anyone had experience with an issue like this?
Look for “projection” in the settings menu. The dealer doesn’t have the power to remove or doable CarPlay.
You have to activate CarPlay on the touch screen. I don’t Remember the exact way to do but it was super simple. They probably cleared the data and turned it off during a factory reset.
Maybe restore everything to default? I’ll try that
Yall… I cannot believe I’m saying this but I tried another cord and it worked instantly. I’m exactly what I make fun of. I’m that guy. Fuck.
It happens, glad you figured it out. CarPlay is the best invention since instant noodles.
