I enjoy streaming my games from my gaming rig to my Steam Deck. I prefer this method because not only does it improve the game’s performance, loading, and visuals, but it also provides around 4 hours of playtime.

However, since updating to version 3.5.5 and attempting to stream, my games appear excessively dark to the point of unplayability. I tried searching in the settings to brighten the image, but nothing helped.

The game runs fine when launched natively on the Steam Deck. However, based on my current findings, this seems to be an issue that will need to be addressed in a patch. Feel free to share any workarounds you may have."

I am definitely experiencing this same issue. I tried to compare to moonlight and color was on spot with moonlight. Before 3.5.5 update, remote play was totally fine. I figured out the workaround: disable hardware decoding in remote play settings on steam deck.

wonder how that effects the performance or latency.
I hope this gets fixed soon :) there’s always something that slips into these stable updates :P

this workarround fixes the color issue.
But it also blocks the steam deck ui from appearing for some reason

I was able to verify the issue you have. Turns out if you’re doing performance overlay level, it’ll make UI disappear with disabled hardware decoding. This is really major bug it seems. Turn off performance overlay then you will have workable steam deck ui
