Hey all, I’ve been having an issue where my steam deck freezes, goes black, than returns with last frame while sound is playing in the background. I believe I had this similar issue with my last steam deck but on that it happened almost daily while this time it seems to happen semi rarely, but it happened twice in a row today with the last time it happening being around 3-4 weeks ago. I did manage to find a system log through journalctl that seems to have been created around the time the crash happened, it’ll be posted here. Not sure what to make of it, but looking up the error it seems other amd users have it, not sure if its the same infamous amd freeze bug tho since from what ive seen on other posts it doesen’t seem to be the same error.
Looks like the amdgpu driver is hitting a major exception relating to the GPU itself and crashed. Try restarting the device and if it’s persistent, try reinstalling the OS and if that doesn’t fix the issue, contact Valve, you might need an RMA.
Does this happen with only 1 game or does this happen with multiple games?
