Genuinely interested in some user reports. I’m well aware of the pros and cons in general, but I’d love to know from first hand if the 1200p make a difference, if The BIOS thing is as much of a pain as it seems to be?

Thanks in advance

I’m happy with the upgrade. Love the improved colors, and 1200p has been great for the type of games I play (2D, indie).

Lots of games feel like they’re made for 1080p, and 720/800p are an afterthought. Though some elements can be hard to see at 1200p on the 7" screen, the experience is definitely better overall, and everything is much more crisp.

The BIOS issue is overblown; it takes two minutes, and valve doesn’t update the BIOS that often. You just run a script in desktop mode.

While I like the idea of DeckHD it’s resolution is way too high for this APU for a lot of games and wasted, I might be in the minority but think 800p looks great at that screen size .

Had it for a week also. BIOS flashing literally takes a minute. The only concern like most people say is whether or not the support will be for long term.

In terms of pros, this completes the device for me as 800p was always my biggest gripe with the deck ( I think the last 720p anything I owned was from 2008). Colors are crisp and now I can unequivocally stare at the screen and be satisfied vs the OEM LCD.
