I’ve been keen to update to 3.5 stable since seeing some good performance gains on those testing the preview. However since the stable release I’ve seen posts about non-steam games now not working, emulators not working and also some more alarming posts about content being removed from MicroSD cards….

I’m assuming these are just a small number of people and this is not a general issue, more likely about addons, customisations etc… but it’s putting me off upgrading!

I’m also assuming if these were general issues they would have been already found and fixed given this is ‘stable’ release…

My SD is stock apart from a few emulators added and recently Star Citizen as a non steam game, plus a MicroSD with some games moved over to from main storage.

I’m thinking to wait for longer and any patches they may release.

Yep hence exactly as I assumed with the impact only for the few. After all the SD is there for tweakers so I’m sure there are few stock SD’s out there without some customisations, add-ons or emulators running that may conflict but in reality how many are not doing that! Not many I’d hazard a guess. Yes Star Citizen is installed, not played yet, but bar the swapfile increase (which I’ve not changed as yet) and installing a version of GE proton that can be forced for it to use, there is nothing else changed for it to ‘work’ just interested to see what it’s like and if it’s the same or worse than Starfield ;) my SD is otherwise as it came but with some steam games and emu deck installed, that’s it, so much less customisation than many I would think

The update destroyed my whole operating system, so I would not take any chances. Tried to fix it a whole day, but nothing worked. Hopefully, you are not as unlucky as me.

I updated and am having issues. For the record I* have done nothing to my deck but use it . No emulators or 3rd party apps. First thing is the wifi doesn’t work. It says connected but when I try to use steam it says no internet connection. It went thru a rather scary boot after update that took a LOOOONG time.

Ok got the wifi working reboot of the deck and my router worked for now.

Wifi is still incredibly slow. Barely breaking 400Kbps. WTF. I wonder if they will ever fix this?

Looking through the comments here, a lot of the people with issues seem to have been in the preview channel beforehand. If you weren’t in preview before I’d assume you’d be fine (if my own experience is anything: I have a ton of emulated games and a few desktop apps added to game mode and I’ve not been affected at all as far as my brief testing goes).

Just updated from 3.4 to the most recent version on stable (is it 3.5.5? IIRC I updated to 3.5.4?).

For me, the performance boost is real. I am currently playing persona 5 in docked mode in 1080p 60fps. It was running quite well before, but with some significant stuttering here and there. This is now entirely gone! Even on the frame times, I cannot see any more jittering, wo I’m super happy :)
