Hasn’t the prick made enough money?
Asmir Begovic and Tim Howard scored from their own box, where is the documentaries about them?
Do Rory Delap next
“triggers” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. There is no causal proof, their entire article is based on correlation only
It’s not that big a leap to causal inference in this case to be fair. If there’s a logical link between the two, the timing of the ‘treatment’ (documentary) is fairly random (ie it’s not expected to coincide with some other factor that increases long-range shots), and there’s a strong correlation - then there’s a fair that one probably caused the other.
Didn’t read the article but after Rice scored that long range shot he mentioned the Beckham documentary, like he watched it the night before and that inspired him
I reckon it’s the Beckham’s PR doing most of the lifting.
Rice specifically said he attempted his shot because he remembered what Beckham had done. What more proof would you want?
We can’t have a Luis Suarez documentary then
They will spin a sob story on why he bites just like they did in the beckham series 🥺
Do on Souness and Roy Keane.
I thought I was the only one that noticed this lmao, I swear there hasnt been as many long shot goals in recent years
Scholes, Gerrard & Lampard docs are now incoming, but nobody does it better than Becks
You have to love the international breaks. Clearly a slow news day for Sky. 🙄
I want a French surrealist art house biopic of Cantona…
Uptick in MMA fighting between players and fans
Feel like that’s what Cantona is doing by himself, not least with his new act of selling out theatres with a musical tour
Hope they don’t make a Netflix documentary about Adam Johnson
Selfishly I want a Drogba one
Would be class. Legendary player who also literally stopped a war in the Ivory Coast.
Don’t even like Chelsea and didn’t like Drogba when he was playing but would definitely watch a documentary about him especially stopping the war in Ivory Coast being part of it and heard that he has a huge god like status across Africa like how Argentinians and Napoli fans love Maradona, would be Interested in exploring that part of his legacy in Africa
I hated him, but he was one of the best the league has ever seen
What would that trigger? Uptick in unselfish striker play? Goals against Arsenal? Jamie Carragher being mogged?
Uptick in diving.
I feel like arsenal defenders still have nightmares of him, but wasn’t he statistically kinda mid?
He wasn’t a ten-season-consistent-monster, like a Messi…But he was so clinical, and was the epitome of a big game player.
It’s not that he racked up an insane goal tally, but more so the timing and circumstances of some of the goals he scored.
Nothing to do with every other keeper playing like a sweeper.
You’re saying Di Marco was inspired too? To be fair a lot of range shots happened in the last month
Playing a high line and sweeper keeper triggers a spike a in shots from long range.
