As I expectantly await my first entry into the world of steam deck I’m really looking forward to the sales. Until now I played mostly on Xbox for the last decade or so but my first computer was a Commodore 64. Xbox offer great deals all year round and their sales are usually very good. Can I expect some top rated titles to go on offer during the steam sale starting on my 50th birthday
Delighted to get half life for free today. I’m currently just after getting the gravity gun in half life 2 - yes I know I’m late to this classic of gaming. I’m trying to play more of the classics that I didn’t get around to at the time like the Bioshock trilogy

PS I am new to steam so if anyone wants to add me it’s https://s.team/p/gmd-npgf/RDTGRFJB So far I am friendless :)
Added bud. Really into the classic at the moment. Although did enjoy some boomerang fu. Don’t forget humble bundle or fanatical as they have steam deck verified bundles.
A good website to keep an eye on is humblebundle.com they do game bundles where you can save a whole bunch of money for bundles of games. New bundles regularly it soon starts to build your library.
Thanks

Sent you a request. I’m Fjara. :)
Install the steam app on your phone so you can browse them easily and add as many games that you want to your wishlist. Also, you can visit isthereanydeal.com to find discounts from other websites other than steam. Another tip: Visit steamdb.info to find the lowest price history for each game.
Make an account on IsThereAnyDeal and start a wishlist with the games you want. You can see the cheapest price it’s ever been at on Steam and other sites that sell legit Steam keys. Then if you set target prices for everything, when the Steam Sale starts you will see which ones are actually discounted to the level you want.
Most games on Steam are discounted pretty regularly throughout the year at random times. During the Steam Sales the discounts aren’t always better, but most of the games on Steam are all on sale at the same time. Usually for my wishlist over half of the games have some kind of discount during one. Some developers/publishers put all of their games on sale at some other random part of the year, for example Square Enix might completely skip the actual Steam Sale for Final Fantasy titles, but then randomly have every game in the series 50% off some other time.
Appreciate that tip I’ve signed up
