Has anyone else had issues with the Steam Deck displaying on the TV in dock mode? I updated everything this morning and now nothing pops up when I plug the Steam Deck into the dock. The Steam Deck’s screen goes dark like usual, but the TV will just switch to a black screen instead. Sound comes through the TV still, just nothing but a dark screen will show. I tried restarting and replugging everything back in, but nothing is working. I am using the official dock as well.

I have the same issue. Just did the firmware update on the dock, the video signal will no longer go to my display. Super disappointed. I hope they can fix this asap.

I’m looking at this issue now, but in the meanwhile, try this short term workaround:

Cold boot (from shutdown) while docked, or, if you get into this mode, try doing a quick sleep/wake of your device.

Let me know if that does/doesn’t help, and if you still have trouble, please post your display model number, which display connector (and cable, if convenient) you’re using. It helps with reproducing symptoms on my end.

I am also having this issue. I followed all steps within the troubleshooting article but the issue remains.

Specifically, resetting the dock gets the image back but only temporarily. When I sleep/shutdown and turn the Deck back on, no image again.

Where can I find the display model number?

Just to be clear, you’re sleep/shutting down the deck while connected to the dock, correct?

Your display’s model number will be on the back (generally) on the sticker near the input ports. Alternatively, you could go to Desktop mode and see if the model number is shown in Display settings. It’s also useful to know what the behavior is in desktop mode when this is happening. If you’re able to extend to the external display in Desktop, but not in gamescope, that’s a good data point.
