I have a smart tag 2 on a keychain that we take when we go bring our dog for a walk. I also bring my phone when we go yet the smart tag never gets updated even though I’m right beside it. Is that a feature because it’s my tag and it’s with me?

Same thing happens with the smart tags that I have in the cars. My kid will take the car and have their Samsung phones with them and yet I never get pings from them, even though they’re in the car right beside the tag.

The only pings/loc locations I seem to get are from other people connecting which isn’t that often frankly. They are in low power mode by the way.

    I checked mine and my wife’s and they were already on which doesn’t explain the issue when walking the dog.

    The kids weren’t so I turned them on.

    Is there anything obscure in smarthings or the tag settings themselves that isn’t straightforward that people always miss?

        I was wondering about the tag with phone thing but haven’t found anything from Samsung to corroborate.
